Bill and I married
in November 1972. Shortly afterwards,
he left for a year’s service in
Thailand. Bill enjoyed a career in
the United States Air Force that lasted over 26 years. In early 1974 we
learned we would be blessed with a child and Bill asked if he could adopt my
two children by a previous marriage making us all “Kings”. With the permission of Donald and Faith,
the judge granted adoption rights to Bill. Donald Everett King was born on September
18, 1967. He was graduated from
Highland Home High School, Highland Home, Alabama on May 23, 1986. Don pursued a career in the United States
Marine Corp and later joined the Marine Reserve. While in the reserve, he attended the Montgomery Police Academy
and served eight years on the police force.
He was called to active duty in 1990 and served in Operation Desert
Shield. Around 1998 he returned to
active duty with the United States Army where he continues to serve
today. He has a son, Joshua DeWayne
King, born 1990. Faith Ann King was
born on August 22, 1970. She was
graduated from Highland Home High School on May 29, 1988. Faith was a Wal-Mart associate for over 12
years and most recently became a full time wife and mother. Ronny and Faith, both single parents,
married in 2000. Tiffany, Faith’s
daughter, was born on April 9, 1991,
and Katy, Ronny’s daughter, on May 2, 1991.
It is like having a set of twins almost. Tiffany and Katy are not only beautiful but they are smart and
talented! Ryan Michael was born on
September 6, 2002. He was a welcome
sight to the whole Lawson Family.
Ronny is in the United States Navy. Michael Alan King
was born December 18, 1974. He was
graduated from St. James Academy, Montgomery, Alabama on May 17, 1993. He received a Bachelor of Science in Management
Information Systems degree from Auburn University in June 1998. Michael is the Director of Information
Technologies for an investment company in Montgomery, Alabama. Donna joined our family on October 11,
2003 when she and Michael married. With our children
grown, Bill and I enjoy spending time together at our home. Genealogy, bird watching, gardening and
home improvements are a few of the many things that fill our time and keep
life interesting. We particularly
enjoy the annual visits made to our hummingbird feeders! Bill is a top notch
mechanic and electrician, enjoys woodworking, crossword puzzles and reads
extensively. I enjoy genealogy
research, cross stitch, and anything to do with home computing. I
collect miniature clocks and hummingbirds. The hummingbirds come in all
shapes and sizes . . Christmas tree
ornaments, candle holders, sun catchers, music boxes. One of the most interesting ones looks
like a hummingbird in flight with its beak in a trumpet flower. The clocks are Timex and Lenox miniatures
. . . an old phonograph, telephone, apple, looking glass, bicycle,
teapot. Bill gave me a rocking chair clock for an anniversary gift,
Faith a secretarial chair and Donna, a Lenox clock shaped like an old time
radio. Last revised: July
